Russian Music 2.1 Composition

Don’t Leave the Room

“This poem by Joseph Brodsky is highly timely. In the performance the poem is signed by the soloist on stage. Music evolves following the words closely, almost like in a song. The composition drama is building up through varied interactions of music, sign language gestures of the soloist, and video art. This combination creates additional allusions and metaphors uncovering new meanings of the poem.”
